Biophysical chemistry elucidates the mechanism of life in terms of chemical concepts (structure and dynamics of molecules) using physical methods (spectroscopy). It is a highly interdisciplinary and rapidly developing area. We focus on time- and space-resolved Raman spectroscopic studies on living cells.
